Remedial massage is designed to relieve and alleviate symptoms associated with soft tissue and muscle dysfunction. Areas of the body which are tense, painful or congested may be addressed using techniques such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release and targeted stretching. These techniques may also be used to assist with increasing range of motion for increased freedom of movement. The pressure used during each massage is adjusted to suit your own comfort level to ensure you feel calm and relaxed throughout the course of your treatment.

Your therapist will work with you to complete a short assessment and treatment plan specific to your needs. Your initial appointment with Green Heart Massage will include completing a detailed health history form, sharing information gathered from other health practitioners you may be seeing, a thorough postural assessment, and any specialised testing required to examine muscle function to determine the best course of treatment.

Myofascial Cupping Technique may be utilised during remedial treatments, and is used to support and maintain functional soft tissue. It involves the gliding of cups over the body with the assistance of massage cream, and it can be used with joint mobilisation.  This technique is applied at a pressure level that is comfortable for you. Myofascial Cupping lifts and separates soft tissue and in turn increases blood supply to the tissue while providing a passive stretch to the underlying soft tissue. This technique is different to traditional cupping methods that often leave the skin marked; with Myofascial Cupping, marking the skin is avoided. The technique is beneficial for all clients, and, as Myofascial Cupping is not a compression technique, it is particularly helpful for those experiencing discomfort that is increased by pressure directly applied in more traditional massage techniques.
